Cravings

Almost every day this week I have been waking up craving freshly made doughnuts. I don't know what it is, but doughnuts have always been my weakness. I could eat far too many and usually have no remorse! Well, look above! It's a doughnut truck! What a genius idea! My fabulous photographer friend, Susan, took this great photo when she was down in Alys Beach, Florida. I am very envious that she got to experience this amazing slice of heaven! I must find a time (as soon as possible) to get down there so I can see this for myself and stuff myself silly!

Obsessing

I can't stop thinking about this intricately beautiful blazer from J.Crew Collection, also under Jenna's Picks, which are all pieces inspired by her last year's trip to Turks & Caicos. Unfortunately this piece is already completely sold out, however maybe that is for the best, considering the price tag on this baby! Well, it's always fun to dream! For more dreaming, please check out "A Day in Paradise" on J.Crews website, escaping to behind the scene footage of their latest photo shoot. Incredible photos paired with handwritten comments describing the inspiration of the shoot's overall look! Oh what I would give to work behind the scenes of J.Crew! How I love you Jenna Lyons!

I could watch this commercial a million times over, it never fails to bring a smile to my face! It is simply charming, from the creative images to the quirky song. I do believe sooner or later this commercial may lead me to purchasing the kindle. Amazon has successfully found a new customer, congratulations!

Home Town Glory!

I am proud to say this beauty is from none other than the wonderful city of Saint Louis! Karlie Kloss started modeling when she was only a freshman in high school and she is currently only 17 years old. I heard about her a few years ago and I am constantly amazed by the work she has accomplished in just a few years. Every time I open a fashion magazine, there she lies. Karlie is known for her unique ability change her look under any given circumstance. She is just recently shown on the cover of Teen Vogue, check out the shoot as well as this great article. Also, check out this adorable video she stars in for Diane Von Furstenberg.

Always Be Prepared!

If I could look cute every time it rained I would and you would see me wearing the above! This rain jacket is from American Apparel and it also comes in some fun colors. These adorable shorts are from Anthro, which are great everyday shorts. And these durable Hunter boots you can find just about anywhere, which luckily I already have! Even though it's fun to daydream about looking chic in the rain, I must admit, I could use a bit of sunshine!

Have a Relaxing Weekend!

Hope you all have a relaxing weekend! Wedding season is officially here... with three weddings tomorrow, Bloomin' Buckets is back in full force. To mentally prepare, my mom and I went out on a little date this evening and had a lovely time! For those of you who live in Saint Louis and have not been to Katie's Pizzeria, I highly recommend it! Delicious food and the greatest decor, I will definitely be making it a regular hang out! Well, enjoy the weekend and if you can, kick your feet up!

shoes, shoes, & more shoes

While in Chicago, my mom took me to her favorite spot, Lori's Shoes! I fell in love with these three pairs of shoes. I could not get myself to buy these "fall like" shoes quite yet. However, all three pairs have been added to my wish list and I hope to purchase all three once the cool weather sets in yet again. For now, I must enjoy my flip flops!

Third Times a Charm!

While my mom and I were on a quick IKEA run over the weekend, we got some very exciting news! Martha Stewart Weddings called my mom and they want to feature her in an upcoming issue. She will be featured in the "Ask the Expert" section! I could not be any more proud of my mom! This will be her third time in Martha Stewart Weddings and she is still as modest as can be. Congratulations mom!

*More details to come!

Just wanted to thank my two running partners, Meghan and Megan, for helping me finish my third half marathon. I truthfully could not have done it without these two! So proud! Congratulations! And I must say Mr. Hayes would be proud!

Pancake Party!

Thanks to Dolci Odille I found the most adorable DIY pancake breakfast! I most definitely want to imitate this setup in the near future. At the moment I could think of nothing more fun than sitting around this lovely table with some of my dearest friends, eating the most delicious pancakes on a beautiful spring day! This must happen soon! PS these pictures were taken by none other than the talented Max Wagner!

The Meaning of "Green"

*Please watch this video before reading (click play essay) (it's worth it!)

I would say it was about two years ago when I became very interested in the environment. I lived in a sorority house and quickly realized how much was actually wasted, whether it was food, water, energy, or paper. I decided it was time that I did something to make a change. I began by taking very small steps. The amount of paper, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans that piled up in our trash bins urged me to take that first step. I created a recycling system for our house. Still searching to take further action, I searched for others who felt the same way I did and quickly discovered a student club on campus entitled, Greeks Go Green. This newly created club consisted of a group whose overall goal was to create awareness among the Greek community on how to become more green. The Greeks Go Green 'Energy Challenge' challenged houses to become more consciously aware of the amount of water and energy they were using on a daily basis and because of this, houses lowered their overall consumption.
Part of "My little 'green' clutch" is to inform you of how and why you should make conscious decisions that will enable you to change the world by bettering our environment! I have several tid bits of information I will be sharing with you to help you take your first steps!
Change the World for Ten Bucks is an informative, yet cheap book of 50 simple everyday actions everyone can do! Their philosophy is simple, "small actions x lot of people = big change"

"Action 01: Decline plastic bags when possible":
"Every person in the country uses an average of 330 plastic bags each year. That's 100 billion plastic bags all together. A plastic bag can take up to 500 years to decay in the landfill."

I Want to Be 10 Again!

My good friend Trenna threw an adorable 10th birthday party for her daughter Hadley! I am getting a sweet tooth just looking at those mouth watering peep cupcakes and smiley face cookies! The last image is a little montage Trenna made for Hadley of her on her first birthday where she indulged in sweets for the first time! Oh to be young!
